Network Setup
Make sure every SimVS tablet has internet access before you install the app.
SimVS tablets connect to each other through the SimVS cloud server (Server Mode). All each tablet needs is internet access.
The only requirement
Each tablet needs internet access. Tablets don't need to be on the same network. For example, the instructor can be on one WiFi network and students on another.
What Works
- Standard institutional WiFi, such as campus or hospital WiFi
- Separate networks for different tablets
- Any internet connection the tablet can join
What You Get
Server Mode is how SimVS is designed to run:
- Automatic reconnection: pair once and tablets reconnect on their own whenever they're online
- Automatic updates: new features and fixes arrive without extra steps
- SimVS Portal sync: content you build in the SimVS Portal reaches your tablets
