Alarm Configuration

Set physiologic alarm ranges for monitored parameters in SimVS Hospital.

Alarm Configuration

Physiologic alarm ranges can be configured for the most commonly monitored parameters. Alarms are set on the instructor side when creating or editing a scenario, and appear on the student side when scenarios are running.

Configurable Parameters

ParameterDefault RangeUnit
HR50–120bpm
RR8–30/min
ABP - Systolic90–160mmHg
ABP - MAP65–85mmHg

Setting Alarm Ranges

Each parameter has a dual-thumb slider that sets the lower and upper alarm limits. When a patient's value falls outside the configured range, an alarm is triggered on the student display.

Open Alarm Settings

Tap the bell icon on the left side of the display, or use Alarms Setup from the Hospital Monitor toolbar.

Adjust Range Sliders

Drag the slider thumbs to set the desired lower and upper limits for each parameter.

Confirm Settings

Tap DONE to apply the alarm settings. Tap SILENCE to temporarily mute active alarms.

Alarm Behavior

When a monitored value exceeds the configured range:

  • The alarm indicator on the student display flashes red
  • An audible alarm sounds on the student tablet
  • The parameter value may change color to indicate the alarm state

Instructor vs. Student Alarms

Alarm ranges are configured from the instructor tablet when writing or editing scenarios. On the student side, alarms trigger automatically based on the scenario physiology and configured ranges.
